Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo add 10–20% in guest service fees on top of the nightly rate. BookingOnABudget.com does not. What you see is what you pay — and hosts pay a flat 5% commission that drops to 0% on all bookings made until 31.12.2027.
The average online travel agency (OTA) charges guests a 'service fee' between 8% and 20% of the booking value. On a €1,000 stay that's €80–€200 you pay for nothing beyond the platform's own margin. BookingOnABudget.com removes this line item entirely: guests pay the nightly rate the host set, plus any local tourist tax and the actual payment-provider cost — never a platform mark-up.
Because we don't take a commission from hosts during the launch promotion, many listings on the platform are cheaper than the identical unit on Booking.com or Airbnb. Once the promotion ends on 31.12.2027, the standard 5% flat host commission resumes — still less than a third of what the incumbent OTAs charge.
Every listing is from an Excellent-rated host and evaluated through our structured post-checkout questionnaire, not public star reviews. That means the price you save on fees doesn't come at the cost of trust.
